Project 01 Experiential Landscape (Case Study)
We are required to present the case studies done on 2 A3 presentation boards and a series of reflection videos. We were given 8 topic to choose from for our case study: Parks, Waterfronts, Pocket Parks, Streetscapes, Passive Landscapes, Plazas, Playgrounds and Public Markets.
Our presentation boards must be visually illustrated with supporting annotations to present the case studies. We must also include human response, design intentions, basic information and functions on to the boards.
I choose passive landscape as I have no idea what it was and I think it would be a good opportunity for me to do some research and find out about it. I compared KL's Perdana Botanical Garden or also known as Lake Gardens, the oldest park in KL with Lurie Garden from Chicago.
Reflection
I did a lot of research as I couldn't find much info about passive landscape and a case study example for the local case study at first. I eventually found out more about passive landscape and successfully found a case study which I can compare with. Throughout my research , I obtained knowledge about landscape architecture and understand more about passive landscape.
Project 02 Sustainable Landscape (Case Study)
We were required to work in a group of 6 or 7 people and conduct a case study on the green cities planning. There were a total of 8 green cities ( Copenhagen, Chicago, Seoul, Singapore, Auckland, Amsterdam, Barcelona and Stockholm ) randomly assigned to every group. Our group received Copenhagen.
For this case study, each group need to introduce the cultural landscape and implementation of sustainable landscapes,technologies and green cities planning principles. We need to conduct a throughout research about the green city, community, how it sustain itself, how it benefits the people, the economy and the environment.

After researching on Copenhagen , we were given a site in KL. Each group were given a different location. The site given to us is Pasar Seni. We then need to research about each neighborhood context within more or less than 5 km radius. We need to study about its neighborhood context, interaction of spaces, human activities and responses.
We visited Pasar Seni and observed the surroundings, the existing cultural landscape, connectivity, walk-ability, circulation, context and the historical built form of each area. The information obtained were then inserted into another A1 board.
As for the individual part, we were required to study one or two elements such as parks, streetscapes, pocket parks, plazas, playgrounds and waterfronts within the site given (radius of 5km-15km from station). I studied the plaza and waterfront elements. After that, we need to propose on how we can improve its cultural landscapes and implement sustainable landscapes, community involvement, and technologies. We then need to design an A5 booklet (6 pages max.) that introduces the site, ideas and improvement that could be done to make it a more sustainable landscape.

Reflection
We need to do a lot of research for this assignment. After obtaining all the necessary information, we need to implement it into our site together with our own ideas to make our site a better place. I was quite amazed by Copenhagen's objectives and technologies. I think every country should have a vision such as Copenhagen's. It would make the world a better living space for mankind. I've learned that team work, time management and proper allocation of work is crucial to finish a project in time especially when the given time is in such a short period.
Project 03 Final Project
Reflection
We slacked and only started doing the project on the last day before the due date. Although it was quite rushed, everyone were quite satisfy with the outcome. We searched through a number of books for the plans and ideas. It was a great group. ( Afiqknick [L], Razin, Qila, Claudwie, me & Hazmi ) I feel very honored working with them. Of all the groups I was in, this is the best. Our group leader did a very good job in allocating everyone's job-scope and fully utilized everyone's talent without neglecting anyone or allocating too much work to anyone. It was fair and balanced, which is why we successfully completed our project in such a short time. But still, I think we should start earlier and manage our time properly for all of the coming assignments / projects.
