ENBE Project 01

Some Info about Project 01 from the brief:
The idea of this project is for the students to experience and appreciate nature. The site visit will allow the students to be part of nature to observe and collect information. Students will have to represent their findings and information as an info graphic exhibition and their experience through a simple documentary video. This project will not just benefit the students in this class, but it will spark awareness and inspiration to others around the world once they share it on YouTube and on their online TGC Portfolio.

Site Visit - Experiencing Nature

Our very first site visit trip!!
It has only been about 3 weeks since I started my foundation course in Taylor's University's, and there's already an exciting site trip! It's a 3-days-2-nights site visit trip to D'ark Training & Resort, at Janda Baik, Pahang, lead by Ms Delliya, Ms Ida, Ms Sufina & Pn. Has. This trip is part of our first ENBE assignment.

We were divided under different tutor before the trip. There are 4 teams in total, lead by different tutor. I am under Ms. Ida's - The Expendables. We were then further divided into smaller groups. My team mates are Roy (Leader), Joey, Winnie, Ken Ric, Razin & Me.

Day 01
Packed in the morning on that day (2nd March) (last minute packing hah) before assembling in front of the office.  We walked to 7-Eleven after that.

Arrived around 10AM. It was a wonderful morning. When we arrived the area, all we saw was Kampung houses and trees. There's not much vehicle around, only saw a few motorcycles. The air there was really different from the city. That's the first thing I realized after stepping down from the bus. The fresh air and sunshine made me forgot that we were there for our ENBE Project 01.

 The environment in D'ark Resort.

Random cute cat. There were cats everywhere!

 Chose our site!

 The river

Boat-making activity after tea. We need to create the biggest and longest boat that could float on water with the materials we have with us.
Unfortunately, we did't win but it was great thinking out of the box.

Had tutorial session at night.
11.30PM - Dismissed.

Day 02
Woke up quite early and went to another venue where there was a lake.
We were transported there in a lorry hahaha It was super fun. We were like a bunch of immigrants standing at the back of the lorry lolll

The lake

There was a competition where each team needs to create a raft using 13 bamboos. That raft must be able to transport 2 of our team mates to and fro of the lake without sinking.

My team didt win again :(
But the process was really fun tho, it was still an awesome experience. I'd never build a raft before, now I know how!
Went back to our site after that. To record, collect & finishes what we haven't done.

Tried to take a selfie with my site #failed

Rehearsed for performance night around evening.
Yea and we got best performance of the night! Even though we did't win those mini challenges, but at  least we got the last one! ;)

Stargazing after dinner! We saw sooo many stars!! It was really beautiful. Everyone just laid on the ground and enjoy the sky - what we don't usually get to see in the city with all the lights.

Had some sing-a-long & chit-chatting session. Played some guessing games too.

Day 03

Went to our site again for the last time. Did some last observations & took a few samples.
And GOOD BYE JANDA BAIK. It's time to head home, back to the hectic university life in the city.

It was definitely an awesome trip. This trip actually also bonded us ( The whole fnbe's students) more closely. I enjoyed this trip a lot and experienced different things that I normally wouldn't. I have also learned to appreciate nature more.

PLAY TIME'S OVERR
It's time to work our a**es off.

Ok, the main purpose of our trip- The documentary video, the info-graphic exhibition booth and our individual scrapbook journal.

The Documentary Video

We need to create a documentary video to share our experiences with nature. The aim of this
video is to inspire others and eventually as an awareness video to all. It is also a reflection of what we
have learnt from the site visit and this project.

My group's video:

We chose to film this documentary video with a story-line.
So, it started by how 5 people who's irresponsible and do not appreciate nature throwing trash everywhere. The 'JOKER' (Roy- Group leader [ Director] ) targeted 5 of them, ambushed them and sent them to a forest. They must now experience nature and learn how to appreciate nature. The 5 senses were also recorded accordingly. The video ended by the reflection of the 5 people, with flashbacks of what they did before and truly how sorry they felt about their actions.

The Info-graphic Exhibition Booth

We will need to present all the information we collected at site as an info-graphic exhibition booth. Our theme and topic were decided beforehand through tutorial sessions and group discussion.

Theme: Colors of Nature (With the physical characteristics of plants & animals)

Reflection

The whole project has taught me the value of teamwork, communication skills and time-management. I've learned that in order to achieve a set goal in a team, everyone should communicate and work together. I also noticed the importance of time-management when I was building our exhibition booth and needed to do the info-graphic posters and the scrapbook journal at the same time.

Besides that, I'd also learned that we need to value our mother nature and the importance to conserve and preserve nature so that our future generation could also experience nature like how we did. This trip was truly an amazing experience.

I would like to thank the lecturers for organizing this trip and the activities that they planned for this trip, and also not to forget my teammates. Thank you.

I hope that there will be more trips like this in the future that could beneficial all of us.
