The first assignment for English II sem 02. We were required to write an compare/ comparative essay on two movies. We had two options to choose from, it was either Dramedy ( Drama & Comedy) or Musical. We need to conduct a research on the genre chosen before starting the essay. We could choose to write a compare or contrast essay, 600 to 1000 words long in 6 paragraphs. Pre-writing technique must be included.
I chose to write a compare essay on two Musical-based film. The first film was The Sound of Music and the second film was Les Miserables.

Reflection
This essay was actually quite challenging and interesting at the same time. Challenging because I had never written any essays related to film genres before, it was my first time writing them; while also interesting because before starting this essay, we would need to research and investigate on the chosen films so that we could understand more about the films and incorporate scenes in the essay to support our point of view regarding the films. I even re-watched the two films chosen so that I could recall the scenes easily.
From this project, I improved and increased my knowledge on the different genres of movies. I obtained knowledge about the professional practice, etc within this field of study. I am also able to extract information from researches and utilize it in my essay.
Assignment 02
For the final assignment, we were to group ourselves in a group and choose and analyze two businesses of our choice from two different settings. We need to include the background information of the business, the analysis of the business in terms of competitors, obstacles or challenges, nature of the business, strategies used and recommendation ( Future plans, expansions, ways to sustain the business, etc).
Our group consists of 7 members, Shiyi, Jo Lynn, Jefri, Wei Zhen, Tze Xuan, Ruben and me. We chose to compare between two traditional herbal shops, one located in Teluk Intan, Perak and the other one in OUG, KL. Both of the shop are established for more than 10 years.
As this assignment incorporates with Effective Public Communication, besides producing a report , we also need to prepare slides for presentation for EPC. We were required to use appropriate methodology in obtaining primary and secondary information related to the chosen businesses, understand the basic steps involved in preparing an research report, apply citations accurately and effectively and preset the findings of the businesses in a formal presentation.

Reflection
Throughout this assignment, I'd improved my researching and presenting skills. I am able to communicate in a formal manner with businessman, professionals, etc. I'm also able to present information obtained in a clear and logical way where it is easier for people to understand. Besides that, I had also obtained knowledge on how to compose a research report and what to include in it.
Through the interview, I was able to understand more about how a business works and the strategies used in order to survive for so many years. I could now evaluate information accurately and present it with confidence. Although I do get nervous sometimes, but I'm certain that I could conquer that fear in the future.
